WCTPay Cards FAQs

What are WCTPAY cards used for?

A WCTPAY card is a prepaid card. Load your money onto your WCTPAY card and then use it wherever EFTPOS Prepaid is accepted in Australia. You can also withdraw cash at ATMs in Australia.

Is my WCTPAY card a credit card?

No, there is no credit facility on your WCTPAY card. WCTPAY cards are Prepaid cards. This means that you can use them exactly like a normal credit card however you need to load money onto them before use.

How do I check my card balance?

You can check your available balance and transaction history at any time, free of charge online by selecting from the Prepaid Card Services options below.

What happens if I make a purchase that exceeds my available credit balance?

Should you wish to purchase items that exceed the available balance of your WCTPAY card, you will need to advise the sales staff prior to making the transaction. You can’t spend more than the available balance on your card, so tell them you wish to pay using two payment methods – pay in part with your card and pay the rest with cash or another payment method.

If you try to use your WCTPAY card for a transaction that is greater than the remaining available balance the transaction will be declined and a declined fee will be charged to your card.

What's my serial number?

When activating your WCTPAY card or making a purchase online you may be asked to enter your card's serial number. Your card's serial number is a series of 6 digits on the back of your card.

What is my card's expiry date?

Your expiry date appears on the front of your WCTPAY card. It appears in the format MM/YY.

How do I get a WCTPAY card?

WCTPAY cards can be purchased online or at a WCT Agent.

Are there any limitations when loading my card?

Only for the High Value Card.

Why do I need my Identity to be verified for High Value Card?

For your security and to comply with AML regulations we verify each WCTPAY cardholder’s identity before a card is issued or activated.

How do I verify my identity?

We can verify your identity online using drivers licence and passport details or by post, fax or email.

If verifying online, by email, fax or post we need:

  • Copies of two forms of identification.
  • Each document must clearly show your name.
  • One document should contain a photo.
  • And one document should confirm your current address.

The following documents may be used as valid forms of identification:

  • Valid passport or international travel document (issued by a government)
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Valid State or national ID card
  • Birth Certificate
  • Utility Bill/Statement containing your name and address (no more than six months old)

How do I load money onto my card?

Your WCTPAY card is reloadable, so you can add funds to your card (as long as you stay within your card limit) as many times as you like up until the card expires.

You can load (add) your own funds onto your Prepaid Card. Each time you complete a load transaction, you will be charged a Load Fee.

You are able to load Value onto your Prepaid Card by Authorised Merchants, via WCT Agents worldwide and online.

The total Value that may be loaded (added) onto your Prepaid Card at any one time cannot exceed the Prepaid Card Limit. Any attempted load that would take the Prepaid Card Value over the Prepaid Card Limit at any one time will be rejected in full. To avoid this, WCT recommends that you regularly check your balance online.

What are the fees and charges?

You’ll find a description of key fees and charges provided in the Product Disclosure Statement.

Do I still pay a monthly service fee if my account balance is $0?
